The
first week of July, I was invited to join a Christian Artists Camp in Hungary
to teach and lead a prophetic dance workshop. It was the first time they had
experienced this and Soda and I didn’t expect the thirst we met! I would
like to share with you these pictures and reports of our brothers and sisters
from Eastern Europe.
At
least 800 people, dozens of workshops, most of them
musical ones (voice, guitar, jazz, brass instruments
etc.), a big tent in a beautiful country setting
for the main meetings with everyone together, it
resembles Psalmodia’s summer Christian Artists
Seminar at Gagnières (France), but no, it’s
not quite the same! Come closer and you will hear
the difference because they are talking in a strange
language … and learning to worship God in Hungarian
is a whole new experience!
More
than 150 churches were represented, there were about fifteen pastors and people
of all generations, many of them young, were present at these meetings. It was
beautiful to see times of praise and worship led by 5 or 6 different well known
worship leaders of the country, all together and with different styles of music.
I had never seen this before! The presence of God was so powerful that I often
had tears in my eyes… Everybody came with a mature spirit to worship God
with all their heart. And when young people express their passion, it is rather
wild because they love jumping for joy!
The
musical level was of high quality, the Hungarian people and the gipsy community
are very talented and many well-known professional musicians came to teach them
voluntarily. Voluntarily because the standard of living is very low there… We
met people who, without knowing it, gave us a great lesson of life and generosity.
The
dance workshop was a great experience! I thought there would be more or less
ten people. And 70 people arrived! Men, women and children, with a great longing
for this revolution in body movement. We shared unforgettable moments, laughs,
discoveries, twinkling eyes and touched hearts, tears of emotion, and above all
fresh understanding of this life « body, soul and spirit » before
our Creator. I was surprised to see the speed at which they learnt. As soon as
they discovered a certain truth, they put it into practice in their life and
in the praise and worship meetings in the evening.
So,
very quickly, the worship evenings changed. Little girls were dancing so beautifully
and women shyly started to dare to join in. Some men were doing powerful prophetic
gestures, even singers and musicians entered into this freedom of movement. Yes,
I saw some dancing like King David probably did in front of the Ark of the Covenant … and
the presence of God grew as we were building a tabernacle with our worship.
Filled with this River of Life, we went into the streets of three Hungarian cities
to evangelise with music, dancing and testimonies. 34 people gave their life
to Christ on this special day.
Our
hearts won’t be the same after this trip and after making these new friends… We
will probably go back next year to continue with this work, and we may even go
to Romania too. In the picture on the left, we are with Balo Bolyki, who is a
singer and the main voice of an acapella group called « the Bolyki Brothers ».
Here is the link for you to hear their music : www.bolyki.hu
I will end with the final words of the co-organiser of this camp … Take
some time to realize that perhaps while you are reading these words, Hungarian
internautes are surfing on this website, brothers and sisters in Christ from
Eastern Europe!

Pal Nemes :
There were
several important goals for us when we created this camp five years ago.
The first one was for the Hungarian church, for her to drink at the same spring… If
we drink at the same spring in spirit and in truth, we will be able to walk together.
The second important thing is in the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 15 verses
16 and 17, it is the restoration of the tabernacle of David. We see more and
more revealed in the hearts of artists this conviction and promise of God.
The camp this year was even more special because you came. It is a step forward
and we have begun to worship God with dancing too.
It is a field where we do not have much experience, it is new, but we want to
seize all the tools God has given in the Scriptures!
